Description
Our Maintenance of Historic & Listed Buildings course is an introduction to the maintenance and conservation of the fabric of historic, listed and older buildings built using traditional methods.
This course is aimed at the owners of buildings that are not currently maintained as part of a pre-planned schedule, or owners that would aim to carry out or manage the maintenance themselves. The Maintenance of Historic & Listed Buildings course would also be a benefit to owners that do have a pre-planned maintenance schedule in place, as a way of making sure all aspects required are included in their maintenance package.
The classes will begin with a presentation on:
- the types of maintenance required
- what to look for and where
- defects that can result due to the lack of regular checks and preventative works
- remedies for damage caused by issues resulting from defects
The class will then move outside for a walk around the castle and part of the grounds (weather and events permitting), to give practical examples of the types of easy checks owners can carry out themselves. By the end of the day you should be leaving with a far greater knowledge of the upkeep of historical & listed properties, and be capable of putting a planned schedule together.
Classes run on Friday/Saturday/Sunday, if you cannot find a day/date to suit please get in contact.
Discounts are available for return classes*:
